Reading Indigenous Literatures: Poetry & Prose

This Open Educational Resource is a collection of publicly available work from twenty-four essential Indigenous writers, from the late 19th Century through the present moment. In addition to links to these works in the public domain, biographical information and further reading recommendations are provided for each writer. The book opens with an overview of rich, long, and continuous history of Indigenous literary and creative expression. Also included are resources on terminology for the United States context, information on the challenges and limitations of Artificial Intelligence within the framework of Indigenous and Indigenous Literature Studies, as well as a section on Open Educational Resource.
